so tonight was the birthday of Destroy All Lines thursday night club NEXT.KISSCHASY were playing with a new but awesome rock band Viking Frontier and being in the company of the awesome Bobbicupcakes, Meltrev, Tara and Phoebe always makes things fun!Got to the club and the line is MASSIVE, seeming I’m from NSW I haven’t been around long enough to know NEXT in the early days, but I sure did frequent the Sydney one a bit.As a joke I asked the guys in front of us in the line if they knew who KISSCHASY were, they said “Who” thinking they were joking they laughed and their mate said “I KNOW ONE SONG I THINK”-woah!SO i was competing against almost one thousand kids to see a band i’ve been seeing for 7 years and love!then as we are creeping closer to the door one of the many girls in minimal clothing vomits into the line, not away but INTO THE LINE… that was my tipping point… the fact that I was missing VIKING FRONTIER made the decision to leave early.let’s just hope at least one of those kids leaves enjoying or at least remembering the music.

my good friends ANGELAS DISH dropped came to Melbourne earlier this week for a fly in visit and i played temp housing for them.I love these boys and their music so much!i over heard Mick say “we don’t really see anyone from the scene anymore, we only make an effort to see Cassie when we come to Melbourne, but she’s deeper than just scene, we actually miss her”.yes he was drunk but it’s pretty nice hearing things like that. It’s so easy to have your efforts go unnoticed in the music industry and i have been helping this band out since i was 16.Angela’s Dish are one of those bands that most music fans know of.They were part of the rise of Central Coast bands in the early 2000s, along with Something With Numbers, In The Grey and After the Fall. The early 2000s was amazing for local music, every weekend we’d spend watching these bands along Kisschasy, Horsell Common and Trial Kennedy.Angela’s Dish have released 3 or so EPS and 2 albums and the latest is incredible, yet it seems to me that it’s the time when they write and record their best material to date is the time when people stop caring about them.it’s funny how this industry works.
